My Creative Journey
Every brushstroke tells a story of transformation. From the structured world of healthcare to the boundless realm of artistic expression, my journey has been one of discovery and passion.
Art became my sanctuary, a place where I could explore the delicate beauty of nature and translate it onto canvas with watercolours and gentle strokes.
Nurse vs Artist
Finding the calm
I am a Norfolk-based artist creating botanical and nature-inspired artwork in watercolour, coloured pencil and graphite.
Alongside my art practice, I also work as a nurse - something that has shaped both the way I see the world and the way I create.
Painting became a slower, quieter counterbalance to an often busy and emotionally demanding environment, and over time it grew into an essential part of my life outside of work.
Neurodiveristy vs Artist
A worthwhile hyperfixation
I've recently found out that I am neurodivergent (AuDHD) which I feel has allowed me permission to stop (or reduce) masking.
I adore learning - I find the need to work to goals in every aspect of life. To continually improve with the desire to understand every aspect until I feel capable. Without goals, I feel such a loss of direction. I cannot explain how freeing I have found my creative time to be.
I finally feel able to be authentically myself.
I’ve always experienced the world through detail and intense observation. Art gives me a way to channel that focus into something calm and grounding, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the intricate structures, colours, shifts in light and movement found within nature.
I draw inspiration from the countryside around me - often whilst exploring with my cocker spaniel, Cosmo. More recently, I have started to grow my own cut flowers. I cant wait to start to create from these as they bloom!
I’ve always been drawn to the quieter side of nature - twisting stems, worn petals, unusual seed heads and the imperfect stages of flowers that are often overlooked. That slower observation has become a huge part of both my creative process and daily life.

Originals & Giclée Prints
My artwork is built gradually through many layers of colour and detail, usually over weeks or months, allowing me to study each subject closely, I aim to capture each subject as accurately as possible, with a particular appreciation for the declining or imperfect aspects.
As a self-taught artist, my style has developed organically through experimentation, patience, and learning through practice. Although I work with a strong focus on accuracy and realism, people often describe my finished pieces as soft, calm, or atmospheric — something that seems to emerge naturally through the process itself.
Alongside original artwork, I offer museum-quality giclée prints, produced using archival materials from my Norfolk studio.
